I'm getting my football watchin' sweats all ready for Thursday's game. Turkey+football=good times indeed.

Crime Does Pay

Hasn't anyone told Chone Figgins that crime doesn't pay? That guy steals more bases...and it always works for him. I caught the Tigers/Angels game last night, and it was so close. But man, that Figgins makes it work, damn him.

Ever since we had the SuperBowl in Detroit a couple years ago, I've been even more desperate to buy Super Bowl tickets for my own team someday. Our city always has such sad news, but the people here have hope. We could really use a good year sportswise, just to keep us peppy. No pressure, Lions, but our happiness depends on you this year. :)

Not a Fan

I will never understand why he wants them, but I'm going to buy NASCAR tickets for my brother for his next birthday. I prefer the brutality of football players smashing into each other. The zoomzoomzoom of racing around a track over and over just does not do it for me.

Oh well, to each his own.

My first angry comment!

Dude, get a sense of humor. And read more carefully. I said I'm happy to have him stay here for now, and that he's an asset anywhere he'll be. There's not even a draft to dodge, so the joke was implied. Nothing more than a play on words. Lighten up. I think Campbell, and anyone who makes the choice to serve our country, is brave and admirable.

A New Way to Dodge the Draft?

Caleb Campbell gets to avoid going to Iraq and gets to be on a pro football team. That is some serious good luck! He should go buy a lottery ticket. :) Here's the article about it.

If I sound at all snotty about him not going overseas, I don't mean to. I really am happy anytime a soldier gets to stay safe at home. (Not sure how safe it is having other huge men trying to crush you on a football field for a living, though. haha.)

I'm sure he'd be an asset to the army as well, but I'm happy we get him for now.
